Strawberry & Blueberry Chia Seed Jam

A quick and delicious homemade jam that’s bursting with fruity flavour and it couldn’t be easier to make! This strawberry and blueberry chia seed jam is a lovely alternative to traditional jam, with chia seeds helping to create a naturally thick, spreadable texture.

It’s perfect for breakfast, toast, porridge, pancakes, yoghurt or spreading into sandwiches and lunchboxes. Make a batch ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for an easy breakfast or snack when mornings are busy.

 

Ingredients

  • 200 g strawberries and blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons Sowan’s chia seeds
  • 15–30 g honey
  • juice of 1 lemon

Method

  1. Cook the strawberries and blueberries in a saucepan over medium heat for 5–8 minutes until softened.
  2. Mash the fruit to your desired consistency.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice, sweetener,
  4. Remove from the heat and stir in 3 tablespoons of chia seeds.
  5. Let the mixture sit for 15–20 minutes, once cooled and settled stir mixture.
  6. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
