
A quick and delicious homemade jam that’s bursting with fruity flavour and it couldn’t be easier to make! This strawberry and blueberry chia seed jam is a lovely alternative to traditional jam, with chia seeds helping to create a naturally thick, spreadable texture.
It’s perfect for breakfast, toast, porridge, pancakes, yoghurt or spreading into sandwiches and lunchboxes. Make a batch ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for an easy breakfast or snack when mornings are busy.
Ingredients
- 200 g strawberries and blueberries
- 3 tablespoons Sowan’s chia seeds
- 15–30 g honey
- juice of 1 lemon
Method
- Cook the strawberries and blueberries in a saucepan over medium heat for 5–8 minutes until softened.
- Mash the fruit to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the lemon juice, sweetener,
- Remove from the heat and stir in 3 tablespoons of chia seeds.
- Let the mixture sit for 15–20 minutes, once cooled and settled stir mixture.
- Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
